Cheerful Givers

Every man according as he purposeth in his heart,

so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity:

for god loveth a cheerful giver.

2 Corinthians 9:7 KJV

It's wonderful world, and its people like you

Who make it that way

by the things that they do.

For a warm, ready smile

   or a kind, thoughtful deed

Or a hand outstretched in an hour of need

Can change our whole outlook and make the world bright.

I didn't get to write yesterday morning, I was busy getting breakfast pizza ready for breakfast.  Then later in the morning I went to New Rockford to physicial therapist, my foot is much better, thank you Lord.  It was a busy day of cooking, they have our little fofice area fixed so we have a place for our cookbooks, Bibles etc.

Trust God's Timing
(Jesus) told them, "You don't get to know
the time. Timing is the Father's business.
What you"ll get is the Holy Spirit
Acts 1:7 MSG

Never dread tomorrow
   or what the future brings
Just pray for strength and courage
and trust God in all things,
And never grow discouraged--
   be patient and just wait,
For God never comes too early,
and He never comes too late.

Trusting that you have all had a good weekend, and that instead of worrying about tomorrow, we will focus on today and enjoy it the most.

Worthy of His Love
Fear ye not therefore, ye are of more value than many sparrows.
Matthew 10:31 KJV

When You're overwhelmed with fears
And all your hopes are drenched in tears,
Think not that life has been unfair
And given you too much to bear,
For God has chosen you because,
With all your weaknesses and flaws,
He feels that you are worthy of
The greatness of His wondrous love.

In a world that is selfish and filled with hate and discord, Jesus is the answer, the bright spot in my life.  The reason for living.  Yesterday campers and staff went home.  I usually take a nap before I leave camp and then take the long route getting to Devils Lake and on the home.  It was a beautiful evening and so we were outside mowing the lawn, it is done and it looks good.

Channel of Blessing

He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them,

he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall

be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.

John 14:21 KJV

Make me a channel of blessing today--

I ask again and again when I pray.

Do I turn a deaf ear to the Master's voice

Or refuse to hear His direction and choice?

I only know at the end of the day

That I did so little to pay my way.

Another camp day.  and it was a good day.  Paula had a real challenging day, she is the directors wife, first  someone commited suicide and she was someone Paula had been listening to for sometime and then they again had a school board meeting at Oberon and the challenges they face with the school board,  I have a good staff in the kitchen so the tasks there go quite smoothly.  It is wet this morning, must have rained in the night.

Serve others, Please God

God has chosen you. You are holy and loved by Him.

Because of this, your new life should be full of loving-pity.

You should be kind to others and have no pride.

Be gentle and be willing to wait for others.

Colossians 3;12 NLV

When we bring some pleasure

   to another human heart,

We have followed in His footsteps

and we've had a little part

In serving god who lvoes us--

for I'm very sure it's true

That in serving those around us,

we serve and please god, too.

Yesterday, Dad and I went to church at lakewood Park Bible Camp.  Afterwards we ate together, got some groceries and then I headed to camp.  I have a lot of help this week, so it will be easy and it will be a good time of fellowship, the campers are about 10-11 and I know quite a few of them.  Trusting that you are each having a good day.

True Happiness
My spirit is happy in God.
Luke 1:47 NLV

Trust in His wisdom and follow His ways.
And be not concerned with
    the world's empty praise,
But first seek His kingdom
   and you will possess
The world's greatest of riches,
which is true happiness.

Yesterday was a beautiful day, we appreciated the sunshine. Dad and I went to Cando for Jay Brandt's 90th birthday party.  We actually sat by Pastor Wes and Ellen Glennen.  After that we drove to Devils Lake, Dad wanted to see if a certain pickup was still there, but it was gone.  We came home.  I went in to visit with Sr.s and then over to see Frank and Dorothy.  When I came home Dad was mowing, so I helped, he also went and mowed at O'Briens but I stayed at home and finished in the yard with some weeding, etc.  The garden is looking great and the flowers, too.

Today is Father's Day, I am thankful for each of you who are Fathers to our grandchildren and great grandchildren, you have such an important role in their lives.  I see to many children who are hurting because that relationship isn't what it should be.

Jesus Our Constant Companion
This is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask anything according to his will, he heareth us: and if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have a the petitions that we desire of him.
1 John 5:14-15 KJV

Somebody loves you more than you know,
Somebody goes with you wherever you go,
Somebody really and truly cares
And lovingly listens to all of your prayers.

Yesterday was the end of the week of camp.  That is a special day, autographs and lots of hugs, the teenagers have bonded with each other.  Even kitchen help have bonded as a group.  After I was done, I took a short nap and then took Gordon to his home in Webster.  I drove back to Devils lake and met and Ann and we visited for a while.  Then on home.  We have been having more rain, I was able to be outside for a while in the evening, planting flowers and picking up twigs from the wind.  just a time for Dad and I too talk over the week both here and at camp.  Trusting that it was a good day for each of you.

God's Own

The Lord Knoweth them that are his.

2 Timothy 2:19 KJV

My cross is not too heavy,

my road is not too rough

Because God walks beside me,

and to know this is enough...

And though I get so lonely,

    I know I'm not alone,

For the Lord God is my Father

and He loves me as His own.

It was another great day,  i went to New Rockford in the morning to the physical therapist.  she was really helpful, I have some ercises I am doing for my feet.  We are still concerned about the swelling in my one leg.

Last night at the talent show one of the young men, shared a song that he had written but first he told why he wrote it...His mother was a partier in college and he is the result of a one night stand.  the father left the picture and eventually his mom married and his step father adopted him and has been a good Dad.  I think that they are all believers, this young man accepted Christ into his life at camp when he was ten or eleven.  His family has had lots of challenges, a little sister died very young and his mom has had several bouts with cancer, these trials have caused this young man to seek God, and in the process he wrote this song...He is an excellent musician and a very talented person.  It was an encouraging testimony.

Trusting that you had a good day.

God of miracles

Call to remembrance the former days,

in which, after ye were illuminated,

ye endured a great fight of afflictions.

Hebrews 10:32 KJV

barren, windswept, lonely hills

Turning gold with daffodils--

These miracles are all around

Within our sight and touch and sound,

As true and wonderful today

As when the stone was rolled away,

Proclaiming to all doublting men

That in God all things live again.

It was another busy day.  A human video team from Trinity came and presented a skit at our service.  The speaker is from Trinity and is very good, I am blest to see our young people responding to the message of total commitment of their lives to Christ.

Secure in God's Love

I know that nothing can keep

us from the love of God

Romans8:38 NLV

Just close your eyes and open your heart

And feel your cares and worries depart.

Just yield yourself to the Father above

And let Him hold you secure in His love.

Another camp day, and served more food.  They are good eaters, and we have a good crew to cook.  The speaker is from Trinity and he is excellent.  I feel so strongly that God wants to set us free from the things that so easily beset us, and he is one who preaches that message to the campers, and God is working.

Shine!

The light of the righteous shines brightly.

Proverbs 13:9

When the darkness shuts out the light,

We must lean on faith to restore our sight,

For there is nothing we need to know

If we have faith that wherever we go

God will be there to help us bear

Our disappointments, pain, and care.

We are back in another week of camp, this time it is 16-18 year olds, I see a lot of faces from other years, two of the Starkweather seniors are here, which is encouraging.  The speaker is from Trinity and he is really good.  there are 5 of us in the kitchen, we are having a good time.  Many hands make light work.

We had a really good Sunday morning, I had two boys for Sunday School, they are really special young men, and we studied about the tabernacle and it was special to see their interest, I gave them the measurements and we talked about making a model.  I hope that they try it.  Michael had an message, about going where God wants us to go,  We are praying about our future as he has been asked to also preach at a Free Lutheran church out in the country by Leeds that Clarence Stanley has been preaching at.  Clarence is 85 and knows that he should have someone replace himself.  So we are praying about that.....Dad and i ate together and got some groceries and then I picked up Gordon Rader for camp.  Have a good day.

Abundant Mercy
Answer me, O Lord, for thy steadfast love is good;

according to thy abundance mercy, turn to me.
Psalm 69:16 RSV
God in His mercy looks down on us all,
And though what we've done
    is so pitifully small,
He makes us feel welcome
    to kneel down and pray
For the chance to do better
as we start a new day.

Yesterday was a day at home, in the afternoon Jim Vondal brought us a new refrigerator,  He said our other one was from the early 1980"s so I guess it did a good job.  Have a great day.

To God Be the Glory
I have looked upon thee in the sanctuary,
beholding thy power and glory.
Psalm 63:2 RSV

Show me the way, not to fortune or fame,
Not to win laurels or praise for my name,
But show he the way to spread the great story
That Thine is the kingdom
    and power and glory.

I don't know what any of you are doing but trust that you have had a good week.  Jesus bless your day.

Yesterday was the last day of camp, it has been a good week. I gave a girl a ride to Lakota, so I got to take a better road, then I drove through Devils Lake and on to Canod and cleaned church, when I got home I rested, we ate and I was outside planting flowers, it was perfect weather for that, damp and almost like a mist sometimes.

Light Bright

Light dawns for the righteous,

and joy for the upright in heart

Psalm 97:11 RSV

You can't light a candle

To show others the way

Without feeling the warmth

Of that bright little ray.

I am sorry I didn't get anything written yesterday, I made some rolls that I had to put on the pan right away in the morning and it took the time.  It has been a good week.  We would like to see sunshine, but God is in control of that.  We are thankful for the sunshine we have had.  I certainly haven't had to water the plants.  God is taking care of that.  Trusting that it is a good day for you.

Praise Him Day by day

Every day i will bless thee,

and praise thy name for ever and ever.

Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praise,

and his greatness is unsearchable.

Psalm 145:2-3 RSV

Start every day

With a "good morning" prayer,

And god will bless each thing you do

And keep you in His care.

It is a good week, we have had some rain, and some sun, but this morning it is reallly cloudy.  I am planning to drive to get the flowers for camp, I have such good helpers that i think I can manage to be away today.

No Time Like the Present

Behold, now is the acceptable time;

behold, now is the day of salvation.

2 Corinthians 6:2 RSV

How will you use the days of this year

And the time God has placed in your hands--

Will you waste the minutes

and squander the hours,

Leaving no prints behind in time's sand?

Yesterday was our first fill day of camp.  We were really short on supplies so for breakfast it was biscuits and gravy.  I decided that I needed to go for supplies, so after a nap after noon meal, i drove to Devils lake.  the woods-Rutten road is really bad, the dust was terrible and they are tearing the road apart so you might have to wait, I decided I needed to come back a different way, so I asked at one business if they knew how to et back by St. Michaels.  They drew me a map but when i tried it there was another road torn apart.,  It was a long winding road, but I did come out where I should so it was o.k.  not sure what I will do next time.  Hope that you all had a good day.

Godly Training

Train up a child in the way he shold go,

and when he is old he will not depart from it.

Proverbs 22:6

We are all God's children,

And He loves us, every one,

And freely and completely

Forgives all that we have done.

Thank you Father for the forgiveness that you give to us, because we aren't personally able to forgive as you forgive.  In Jesus Name. Amen.

Camp has started, but before I came here, we had Sunday school and church, it was a good day, new people and old friends, and a time to worship and honor god.  Jack and I ate together and got some groceries.  topped it off with a DQ and then I went to camp.  Biggest challenge is shortage of supplies, I always have a time to get organized in that area, but God help and good fellowship.  The speaker and his family have been coming for 10 years.  They dedicated the fofice building before our first worship service.

Tears to Smiles
(God) will wipe every tear from their eyes.
There will be no more death or mourning or crying
or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.
Revelation 21:4 NIV

In God is our encouragement
In trouble and in trials,
And in suffering and in sorrow
He will turn our tears to smiles.

Yesterday was a beautiful day, I did some things in the yard, and in the afternoon there was an open house to meet Chad Lunde's new little ones, they adopted them in Russia.  I thought we were going to meet his wife but she didn't come.  Today after church and eating, I will need to drive to camp, I don't know if I will be able to write to you every day, we will see how it goes.Jack was helping Chuck yesterday, the fields are looking beautiful, whether they are freshly worked or green from growth.  You all have a great day.

This is a picture that Richard and Barb sent of Chad, Kathleen Roman and Pasha.  They were really sweet boys, I visited with Chad about the experience of being in Russia and getting them.  Interesting.

Brilliant Hope
I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened
in order that you may know the hope to which
he has called you, the riches of his glorious
inheritance in the saints.
Ephesians 1:18 NIV

In sickness or health,
In suffering and pain,
In storm-laden skies,
In sunshine and rain,
God always is there
To lighten your way
And lead you through darkness
To a much brighter day.

I have missed all of you for a couple of days.  I went to FaHoCha on Thursday afternoon.  Gabe went with me.  We stopped in Devils Lake to get some flowers for a planter at camp, it was really raining when we shopped for them, so I got a bit wet, then at camp I planted them in between rain showers.  This is what they look like.  We usually wait til we get flowers donated but this Sunday they are dedicating the building behind so we wanted flowers in place there for that event.  There is a new staff person and he helped me some, I think he likes gardening, too.  I usually stay for this weekend, but we have activites this weekend so I came home.  Last night we were over to Dale Solbergs and there were others from the area there, his brother and wife from Devils Lake, Curt and Pam Iverson Landsom, Diane Hoiland, Chuck and Alice and Diane Martinson Blue and Dale and his wife Lois.  They had salmon Salad in lefsa and cookies and coffee and lots of visiting. We ended the day by Chuck playing the guitar and we all singing together some of the older hymns from our time.  It was a really fun time.

Wholehearted Love
We love, because he first loved us.
1 John 4:19 RSV

All of God's treasures
Are yours to share
If you love Him completely
And show Him you care.

Our hardest thing is to love him completely, that is the work of a lifetime.  But as we yield, he is faithful and waiting patiently for us to come to him....

Yesterday was a day here at home, I have been focusing on some history, putting extra photos with the family histories in town and then in the afternoon I mowed lawn, and since it was like a hay field I then raked, but there is more to do today before I go to camp.  I don't have a lot of energy today, so I think I will be focusing on things here in the house.  I will be coming back from camp tomorrow afternoon.

Rich blessings
The blessing of the Lord makes rich,
and he adds no sorrow with it.
Proverbs 10:22 RSV

Be glad for the comfort
you've found in prayer;
Be glad for God's blessings,
His love and His care.

I appreciate the face book contact so I can see what you are doing.
Father, I pray for  our family for your guidance in this day, that your blood will protect them and that you will direct their path, in Jesus Name. Amen

Yesterday, was a day around here. Dad was in the field and for a while I was in town, I taught a gal how to crochet the pot holder, and then worked on some history.  It was a good day.

Our Keeper
The Lord is your keeper; the Lord is your
shade on your right hand. The sun shall not
smite you by day, nor the moon by night.
Psalm 121:5-6 RSV

After the night, the morning,
Bidding all darkness cease;
After life's cares and sorrows,
The comfort and sweetness of peace.

Do you enjoy the peacefulness of an evening outside, just enjoying the sounds of nature, that is what this says to me.....I love to go outside and listen to the sounds, maybe just sit on the ground and pull a few weeds.

Yesterday I went to Cando in the morning and cleaned the church then went to Memorial Day services and came home, I spent the rest of the day indoors and cleaned and cleaned.  Jerry came and got the colored printer going.
